What is Life Coaching? Life
coaching is a process that supports a person to achieve their life
goals. At certain times in life we don’t think we are getting
anywhere. We may be feeling stressed, we may have lost direction
or motivation or just the zest for life that we used to have. It
can often be hard to find a way to help yourself when you feel
like this.
Life coaching works by helping you to carefully and systematically
analyse your situation in such a way that will enable you to
see your life goals more clearly. Together with your personal
coach
you will identify goals that will help you realise your potential
and plan the route toward achieving these goals.
 What
can Life Coaching be used for?
Life coaching is useful for those times in life when
we are unsure where we are going. This may be a result of a normal
life event such as deciding on a career, the end of a relationship,
having children, reaching middle age, coping with the menopause or
the ‘empty-nest syndrome’. We may also feel lost after
a more traumatic event such as a bereavement, divorce, unemployment
or anything that tends to knock us sideways. Of course, for many
of us we just feel that we are on the wrong track and could really
do with someone to help us work out where to go next.
 How
does Life Coaching work?
There is no magic involved here but it still
works. The essence is to think systematically about your situation
in the company of a coach who has some experience which will
be of benefit. Your coach will be there to watch you try new
things and to support you in the changes that you make in your
life so that you do not felt that you are doing this alone.
Our coaches are all qualified psychologists so we are able
to offer you a psychological perspective and the benefit of
a strong theoretical foundation to what we do.
 How
long does Life Coaching take?
Life coaching does not tend to be a long,
drawn out experience but obviously the duration will depend
on the issues you are working with.
 What will I have to do?
You will set up an initial appointment to
meet with one of our coaches and discuss your needs and what
we can offer you. If you wish to continue with coaching your
coach will work with you on drawing up a personalised plan
of action. Your coach will support you via meetings, e-mail
or telephone as you put your plan into action.
